The West Virginia University Summer Dance Academy returns this summer with intensive training, masterclasses, and performance opportunities for dancers at every stage—from first-time movers to pre-professional performers. Registration is now open for all programs, with limited space available per level.
Programs by Age and Experience
Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, the academy offers segmented tracks designed to meet students where they are.
Youth Division (Ages 6–11)
Half-day morning sessions build strong fundamentals in ballet, jazz, and creative movement. Classes emphasize coordination, musicality, and confidence in a supportive environment.
Teen Intensive (Ages 12–17)
A rigorous full-day program for intermediate to advanced dancers. Students train in ballet, modern, jazz, tap, and hip-hop; study repertory with guest artists; and perform in a final showcase open to family and friends.
Adult Track (Ages 18+)
Evening and weekend classes welcome absolute beginners, recreational dancers returning after years away, and experienced adults seeking structured training. No audition or prior experience required.
