Taylor Swift drew more than 55,000 fans to Groupama Stadium in Lyon, France, setting a new attendance record for a female artist at the venue, according to event organizers.
The record-breaking show took place on Saturday, June 2, as part of Swift's Eras Tour. The figure surpasses the previous benchmark of approximately 50,000 set by Beyoncé during her Formation World Tour in 2016, based on venue-reported numbers.
Tour Momentum Continues
The Lyon stop adds to a growing list of venue records Swift has collected during the Eras Tour, which launched in March 2023. According to Pollstar data, the tour became the highest-grossing concert tour of all time in late 2023, surpassing $1 billion in reported revenue across 60 shows at that time.
The 34-year-old singer-songwriter's current live production spans her full catalog, with a setlist running over three hours and drawing from albums including Folklore, Midnights, and The Tortured Poets Department alongside earlier releases.
Local Impact
The Lyon concert marked Swift's first performance in the city since 2015. Local officials estimated the event generated significant economic activity for hotels, restaurants, and transit operators across the metropolitan area, with fans traveling from neighboring Switzerland and Italy to attend.
Swift performs a second show at Groupama Stadium on Sunday, June 3, before the Eras Tour continues to Edinburgh, Scotland.
