What Is Krump?
Krump is a high-energy street dance style that emerged from South Central Los Angeles in the early 1990s, gaining wider recognition in the 2000s through films like Rize and the global battle circuit. It's defined by explosive, hyper-energetic movements, confrontational battle attitude, and raw emotional release—often amplified through face paint that transforms the dancer into an alter ego.
This is not choreography for cameras. Krump is lived. It's a language built on speed, control, and unfiltered expression. Every session is a conversation. Every battle is a test.
The Workshop Series
The 2024 Pine Creek Krump Workshop Series trains dancers at every level—from absolute beginners finding their first buck to seasoned veterans sharpening their edge for the circle. Each session runs intensive, hands-on, and battle-tested.
Workshop Highlights:
- Foundation Building: Master the core mechanics—stomps, chest pops, jabs, and arm swings—that give Krump its signature power and precision.
- Freestyle Development: Dismantle self-consciousness. Build the timing, musicality, and confidence to move without a preset routine.
- Battle Craft: Study ring psychology, how to read an opponent, control space, and stay authentic under pressure.
- Culture & Community: Train within the traditions that shaped Krump. Connect with dancers who treat the style as lineage, not trend.
Who's Teaching
We bring in instructors with documented credentials in the Krump ecosystem. Final lineup announcements drop January 2024. Past Pine Creek instructors include Tight Eyez protégés, Big Soulz co-founders, and battle champions from the European Buck session circuit.
No unnamed "renowned artists." Just names you can look up, styles you can study, and reputations earned in the circle.
