Building Foundation: The Intermediate Track
As dancers progress, our intermediate program provides the crucial bridge between foundational skills and advanced technique. This is where artistry begins to flourish alongside technical precision.
Levels & Progression
Intermediate I
Focus on strengthening technique, increasing flexibility, and introducing more complex combinations.
Intermediate II
Development of performance quality, longer combinations, and introduction to variations from classical repertoire.
Pre-Advanced
Preparation for company-track training with focus on stamina, artistic expression, and technical mastery.
Student Outcomes:
By completion of the intermediate track, dancers demonstrate proficiency in all basic and intermediate techniques, have experience with performance, and are prepared to audition for our advanced professional track or pre-professional programs.
Pre-Professional Excellence
Our pre-professional program is designed for the serious ballet student pursuing dance at the collegiate or professional level. This intensive track mirrors the training and discipline of a professional company.
Comprehensive Training Includes:
- Daily technique classes (Vaganova and Cecchetti methods)
- Pointe work and men's technique
- Partnering classes
- Variations from classical repertoire
- Contemporary ballet and choreography
- Dance history and anatomy
- Performance opportunities throughout the season
Students in this program typically train 15-25 hours per week and participate in our annual production of The Nutcracker and spring repertoire performances.
The Professional Track: Artois City Ballet II
ACB II serves as our transitional company, bridging the gap between student and professional dancer. Members receive stipends, perform extensively throughout the season, and understudy main company roles.

- Approximately 20-30 performances per season
- National and international touring opportunities
