Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre has opened up about her struggles with dance numbers in her career. In a recent interview, she revealed that she had a particularly difficult time learning dance moves for Shah Rukh Khan's 1997 film "English Babu Desi Mem".
According to Sonali, choreographer Saroj Khan was not pleased with her performance and was "ready to kill" her. She recalls going through sleepless nights, feeling anxious and stressed about getting the dance numbers right. The actress admitted that she was not naturally talented in dancing and had to put in extra effort to master the choreography.
Sonali also shared that she was initially hesitant to take on the role in "Sarfarosh" because she felt that her character was the comic relief and that without her, the film would be a documentary. However, she eventually agreed to do the film and is glad that she did.
In another interview, Sonali revealed that she took on the iconic song "Humma Humma" because she was "terrible at dancing" and wanted to challenge herself. Despite the challenges, she has fond memories of working on the song and is grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of it.
Sonali's honesty about her struggles with dance numbers is a refreshing change from the usual glamour and glitz associated with Bollywood. Her willingness to share her vulnerabilities and imperfections with her fans is a testament to her humility and authenticity.
